    • Color 1

    • Color 2

    • Misc. Color

As the Color System was described in an earlier section, this page will focus solely on the Options that can be added to a shed. For a full breakdown of how the color panels work, see the Color System or the Color Documentation.

Each Category is a high level filter for the type of option that exists. So for example only Doors will be found under the 'Doors' category. The Subcategory further filters the options in the Category based on similar criteria, such as style of door, material, etc. A full breakdown of what is in each Category and Subcategory can be found on the Options page in the Resources section.

Option Application

Options can be added in several different ways:

  • Dragging: Dragging the Option to a specific location in the 2D panel.

  • Radio Button: This activates the Option in a specific, predetermined location.

    • Radio Buttons only allow for one Option in the section to be active at a time.
  • Toggle: This activates the Option in a specific, predetermined location.

    • Toggles allow for multiple Options in the section to be applied.
  • Count: Certain options when activated, will display a counter underneath. This allows users to adjust how many of the Option they want.

Applying Options to Options

Certain Options are only used on other Options. This application is limited to Doors and Windows, and the relevant add ons to the Doors and Windows can be found in the Accessories Category under the 'Door Options' and 'Window Options' respectively.

When applying an option to a Door or Window, an icon will appear on the Option in the 2D Panel after it has been successfully added. (For doors, this is a star icon) This is to indicate that the option is associated with a specific Door or Window when the shed is constructed. There is no limit to the number of options that can be applied to a Door or Window, however certain options could replace one that is already applied.

  • For example, a user can swap a Treated Wood Ramp with a set of Portable Metal Ramps. As both are a ramp, only one can be applied at a time.

Overwriting Options

In some instances, Options cannot be added to the current shed. There are three general instances of this happening:

  • The Option is being placed on top of an exisiting Option. This results in the old Option being replaced.

  • The user is attempting to place an Option too close to an existing Option, and placing it would result in a collision. This is not allowed in the builder, and will result in the Builder not placing the new Option.

  • The rules for the Option conflicts with an exisitng Option that prevents it from being placed.

    • An example of this is on Garage Doors. An Outside Latch cannot be placed on a Garage Door with Decorative hardware, or with a Garage Door Opener. It will replace the Decorative Hardware, but the Builder will prevent the Opener or Additional Openers completely, and if the Opener is already placed, the User cannot add the Outside Latch.

Option Inclusion/ Exclusion

Not every option is meant to be on every single shed. Certain configurations prevent options, or other options are unique to a specific roof pitch. There are three components to this system:

  • isDefault: Forces the option to be available on every shed.

  • Include: Include lists are a list of assets that are on a Model or Model Size. If an option is on one of these lists, it will be available in the builder for assigned the Shed.

  • Exclude: If an option is set as isDefault, it will appear on every modelsizes in the builder. In the case that a specific modelsize should not have a isDefault option, assign it to either a Model or Model Size Exclude list. The option will not be available in the builder on that Shed.

Using the properties of the Options, they can be linked together to associate them with one another. Examples include:

  • Shutters based on window height.

  • Hinges based on the door width.

  • Weathervanes and Finial based on Painted or Cedar Cupolas.
