Products in Outdoors are organized by 'Collection' and 'Category.'

  • Products can be listed in multiple 'Categories.'

  • Each product will only be listed one time in 'Collections.'

'Collections' and 'Categories' each have subcategories further refine searching for products.

Customizing Furniture

Products will appear with a certain color combination in both the shop page, and on the individual product page.

Most Products are customizable. If a Product can be painted, resized or have the fabric changed, it is known as a 'Product Variation'.

  • Outdoors then condenses all the variations for a Product into a single listing on the Store page. Users can then change any available details from the Product Page.

There is a search bar that can be used to search for products.

  • The search bar can be for both name and product id.

  • The search will return the 'default variation' of that product.

Users can make various changes to their furniture:

  • Some furniture only has a single color that can be applied.

  • Others have two colors slots.

  • Some furniture has the option to select a fabric type.

  • Some Products have mulitiple sizes.

The color selection system is a series of photographs overlaid on each other. It is comprised of three layers:

  • A base layer: This contains anything that can’t get a color change.

  • Color 1: This is a black and white cutout of all the areas that get the color applied.

  • Color 2: This image is functionally identical to 'Color 1', however it is a cutout of a different section of the product.

All the images used in color system are based off the same photo.

  • Images can be changed from the Order Admin.

Colors that are available for a piece of furniture can use are also assigned in the Order Admin.

Every color combination for a product is listed in the Order Admin.

  • From this list, the default color combination can be assigned.

Some colors will update the product id.

  • Certain colors have different pricing.

Additional customization is available for certain pieces of furniture:

  • Size

  • Add-ons

  • Number

Some products require additional items to be a valid purchase.

  • Some of these products are required, others are optional.

  • When that occurs, the options are listed on the page.
