Unique Option Rules

Several options in both Shedbuilder and Garagebuilder have options that have specific conditions that must be met in order to allow them to be placed in the configuration.

Shedbuilder

Interior Packages

In order to add an Interior Package, the following conditions must be met:

  • The Shed must be Factory Built.

  • The Shed must be less than 16' wide.

  • Only available on New England and Signature Sheds.

Extra Skids

Can only be added on Factory-built sheds.

Gable End Shakes

Can only be added on Built-on-Site sheds.

Drop Lofts

Drop lofts have two situations where they can be added. In both instances stairs need to be added to the shed, if they are available.

  • Should the stairs only be able to be added if the drop loft also added, the drop loft will be automatically added to the shed.

    • Removing the stairs will remove the drop loft as well.

  • Drop lofts can be an optional upgrade if:

    • The Stairs can be added without the drop loft.

    • The shed has an 8' Wall height.

Pent Roofs

On Shedbuilder, Pent Roofs are available in several sizes and widths, however each width only has one width available to it.

  • For 8'w, 10'w and 12'w can only recieve pent roofs that are 16"deep and 8' long, unless there is a 33" or 36" door underneath. Then the pent roof is only 6' long.

  • All other shed widths have a custom length pent roof that is 23" deep. The length of the pent roof is determinded by the content underneath, with additional distance on either side for clearance.

These options are individually assigned through the Include System to the correct model size.

If the placement of the pent roof would collide with another option, or outside the bounds of the wall, the pent roof cannot be placed.

The height of the pent roof is controlled in the same manner as Windows: assigning the option a value for the YSnapPoint. For more information on field, see the Options page.

Garages

Unlike doors and windows, Garages have special rules that are in place to determine if the can be placed. When placing the garage door, Shedbuilder checks:

  • If the model size has enough distance between the wall and its opposite to accomidate the Garage Door when it is open. If there is not enough room, the Garage Door cannot be placed.

  • The Clearance against other Garage Doors, in order to ensure that there is enough room that two perpendicular Garage Doors can be placed.

  • The Clearance of any Lofts on the Shed. If there is not enough clearance, the Garage will not be placed. For more information, see the section on Low Clearance Tracks.

Low Clearance Tracks

A Low Clearance Track is applied when the Builder determines that a garage door does not have the clearance above it to fit the door. The builder determines this by following these rules:

  • Measurement A: Measure 3" out from the left or right edge of the garage door opening.

  • Measurement B: From Measurement A, measure straight up until reaching the bottom of the Top chord, or Bottom of the Loft Joist.

    • If Measurement B is less than 6", a Garage Door will not fit and the Builder will not allow one to be placed.

    • If Measurement B is between 6" and 10", the Garage Door will fit, but requries a Low Clearance Track. This cannot be removed without removing the garage door as well.

    • If Measurement B is greater than 10" the Standard Track will fit and nothing needs to be done.

    • If an Opener with One Remote/Chain Drive is added, Measurement B needs to have an additional 4" added to each of the above rules.

Code Packages

Code packages are documents that are to certify if a shed is up to code within a local municipality's building codes. These are selected at the model size screen, and have several available offerings. What makes these unique is that the specifics are to be compiled by the customer. If the customer does not know if or what is required in their code package, then 'None' should be selected. Due to their importance in building the shed on a property, these have been placed on the model size selection screen. However, in all other respects, they act like a regular non visual option:

  • They are added to the pricing panel, and recieve a price through a partnumber

  • They can be applied or removed from an individual shed or model via the Include/Exclude system

  • They are added as a line item on during checkout, and on Order Confirmation

However, they will add a page to the Structure's Drawings in Order Admin, detailing what is in the Code Package the Customer has selected.

Express Delivery

Express Delivery is an expedited delivery that can be applied in certain situations.

  • Can only be added on Factory-built sheds.

  • Only applies to Inventory Sheds.

Foundations

Foundations are a special service offered by JDM for certain sheds that meet the right criteria: - The shed must be built on site

  • The shed must be at least 14' wide

  • The Price set must allow for Foundations in the pricing.

    • This means foundation can be unavailable based on the zip code.

Permission Levels

Some choices in the Shedbuilder environment require the account have a certain permission associated with the account in order to use. This applies to both Model sizes, and Options. If an option or Model Size is not avaiable, despite all other criteria being correct, check you're accounts permissions. A breakdown of the options and they're permissions are as follows.
